Dear Grow to Know Families,
The end of October just flew by with all the Fall Activities. The students had a lot of fun in the Schweitzer Church offices while Trick-or-Treating. The next day, the excitement continued for the Fall Parties. Of course, we cannot forget all the pictures taken during that last week. You should have received an email and a text message containing a link to set up an account to view and order the images. Orders are due by November 14th. The expected delivery date is the week of December 11th. If you have any questions or problems with your account, please contact Heather in the office.
It is hard to believe that the holidays are fast approaching. GTK students, 2s through Pre-K, are already practicing for the Christmas Program. Please mark your calendars… Due to unforeseen circumstances, Grow to Know is rescheduling our Christmas Program from Thursday, December 11th, to Tuesday, December 9th, at 6:00 pm. I hope this provides everyone with sufficient notice to plan accordingly.
As the weather turns colder, I ask that you please put your child’s name on their coats and jackets. Our teachers try so hard to make sure they know which coat belongs to which child. Mistakes do happen, and coats do get left in different spots around the center. At this time, we have 7 or 8 coats in lost and found.
Thanksgiving is not that far away. We will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27th, and Friday, Nov. 28th. We call the first part of the Thanksgiving week, Nov. 24th-26th, a “pay as you go” week. This week, you only pay for the days your child attends. If your child uses only one day, we will charge you for that day only. If you use all three days, we charge you for the three days. If you choose not to use any days that week for child care, you will not be charged. Teachers will have sign-up sheets in their classrooms so you can sign up for the days you would like to use. Please take a moment to do this so we can ensure we have sufficient staff planned for these three days.
Autumn Prayer
God of all seasons, we thank you for Autumn.
We thank you
for the touch of coolness in the air that gives us a new burst of energy,
for the coloring of trees that shows the creativity of the Divine Artist,
for the falling leaves that reveal the strength of the branches,
for the hues of fields that bring peace to our souls,
for the smiles on pumpkins that bring joy to children,
for the fall harvest which that brings us gratitude for the bounty of our land,
for this change of seasons that reveals the circle of life.
God of all seasons, as you transform the earth, transform us by your Spirit.
Amen
